How to Clean a Stainless Steel Rival Coffee Pot

2012-05-22 Hits:

Cleaning stainless steel coffee pots, whether the entire carafe is stainless steel or simply has a band of stainless steel, is no more difficult than cleaning pots made of other materials. You should avoid harsh cleaning chemicals on stainless, but that is easy to do, since stainless steel coffee pots clean up easily. Regular cleaning (weekly, if you use the pot every day) will keep your coffee pot looking sufficiently clean and shiny. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1 Unplug the coffee pot--never clean appliances without unplugging them first.

2 Remove the carafe and filter basket and place these in a sink with warm soapy water (use about 1 tbsp. of dish detergent). Allow these to soak for several minutes.

3 Clean the coffeemaker while the carafe and filter basket are soaking. You may use a damp cloth or sponge to clean the warming plate and the water holder. If necessary, clean the external areas of the coffeemaker by using a little detergent on the cloth.

4 Rinse the coffeemaker with a clean damp cloth. Follow with a dry cloth over the external elements.

5 Finish washing the carafe and the filter basket. Scrub the filter basket and then the carafe with a soapy sponge. Rivalproducts.com suggests using baking soda for severe stains--apply a little baking soda directly to your sponge before scrubbing.

6 Rinse the carafe and the filter basket. Dry them with a soft cloth and return them to their respective areas on the coffeemaker.
