How do I decide the size of the mesh basket to order?
•Wire Mesh Size Designation: Wire mesh is designated by "Mesh Number" (number of wires per inch) and "Wire Diameter" (the diameter of each wire). A higher "mesh number" means more wires to the inch, a higher "wire diameter" means a thicker wire. The "Opening Size" listed is the approximate size of the square openings between the wires.
•Wire Mesh Selection for your application: Select a mesh for your basket with an opening size smaller than your smallest parts (so your parts don't fall through), but large enough to allow good flow and drainage. In general, mesh with a larger wire diameter is more durable than smaller wire diameters. We have only a few common mesh sizes listed here, but there are an unlimited selection of mesh sizes and wire diameters available. If your application requires something not listed, please call.
