the best way to solve the plumbers stainless steel mesh basket

My wife and I spend most of our disposable income on plumbers. Our house is about 36 years old, and for the last 10 years, we have been repeatedly plagued with a clogged sewer line that drains the kitchen sink and the washing machine.
It seems that our washer does not have an exhaust filter, so I installed a large monstrosity of a device that catches lint. In theory, that should take care of the washer problem.
As to the sink, our plumber told us several years ago to get rid of the food disposer, because it was contributing to the clogs. And so we did.
But that didn’t completely solve our problem. We tried to be careful about not letting grease or food particles go down the drain. A really bad invention is the traditional stopper/strainer. It either rotates itself until it closes off the drain when you don’t want it to, or it lets things go down the drain. Cleaning it out is no fun either.
One day while going down the soup aisle in Kroger, I noticed on a hanging display the Discovery Mesh Sink Strainer. It was simple enough, and seemed to be the solution to my pet peeve.
It is a stainless-steel rim with a stainless steel mesh basket hanging down from the rim. After making the investment, I couldn’t wait to get home and see if it fit. I’m easily excited.
It fit perfectly and catches everything, while letting the water easily flow past. Since our purchase, we have gotten a new sink of the stone/epoxy type, and it fits the new sink as well.
I’ve been telling everyone how well it works.
And it is very easy to clean out — I’ve watched my wife do it many times.
