Wire Shelving Installation
Datetime:2014-05-29 Hits:
Wire shelving is an ideal solution to closet and pantry storage and organization. The shelving can be configured in any number of ways to create a customized storage space. Wire shelving comes in kits and has a slotted wall bracket that allows the shelf supports to slip into slots along the entire length. Identifying wall studs is an important part of the installation process. You will need to secure the wall brackets to a wall stud in order to have a secure shelving installation.
Instructions
1
Run the stud finder along the wall where you want to install the wire shelving. Mark the location of the studs in the wall with a pencil.
2
Position one of the wall brackets against the wall oriented vertically along a stud. Position a second bracket along another stud so that the two brackets are spaced 6 to 8 inches closer together than the width of the shelves.
3
Hold a level against the lengthwise side of each bracket and adjust it to level. Drive the mounting screws provided with the kit through the mounting holes in the brackets and into the wall stud using a screw gun to secure each bracket to the wall.
4
Insert pairs of shelf supports into the corresponding slots in the wall brackets at each height where you want to locate a shelf.
5
Align a shelf over the shelf supports at each height along the wall brackets and click it into place.
