If you like to keep lots of fresh vegetables on hand, it can be difficult to find a dry storage area that is convenient and provides air circulation for veggies that need it. Home remodeling weblog My Home Ideas suggested turning a cabinet drawer into a dedicated produce stainless steel kitchen drawer.
Of course this design was created by an expensive custom cabinet maker, but if you like the idea it wouldn't be terribly difficult to construct a similar drawer from perforated steel, hardware cloth with wooden supports, or repurposing mesh metal desk accessories. The only trick would be getting your solution to match the drawer size and installing the drawer slides. You can always save the original kitchen drawer to replace when you move.
