Grilled meats usually contain enough fat to prevent them from sticking to a stainless steel grill plate and vegetables can be sprayed with cooking oil or placed in a grill basket. Remove the grates from the grill and wash them in warm, soapy water with a dish cloth or scrub brush before you use the grill. Dry them thoroughly with a soft cloth. Replace the grates.

Brush the grate with a bristle brush made for cleaning grills to remove any food debris. Brush it again after you are done grilling and it has had time to cool down.

Remove the grates occasionally and wash them thoroughly in warm, soapy water. Washing them in a dishwasher is not recommended because debris from the grates may clog your dishwasher, according to the Weber.com website.

Dry the grates thoroughly to prevent rust before putting them back in the grill after cleaning.
