Make a Fruit Gift Basket
Datetime:2014-03-12 Hits:
Fruit baskets make thoughtful gifts for teachers, party hosts and anyone who deserves appreciation. Fruit baskets not only look nice, they require little effort to put together. Follow these steps on how to wrap a fruit basket, and you will be sure to make someone's day.
Instructions
1
Buy colorful fruit that is free of bruises and blemishes. Although you can buy traditional fruit, such as apples, oranges and bananas, add an exotic touch to your fruit basket and select nontraditional fruit, such as pineapple, kiwi and mango.
2
Fill a wicker basket, or other container, with colored shredded paper, and arrange the fruit on top. Put bigger pieces of fruit on the bottom, or off to one side of the basket, and display smaller pieces of fruit around it.
3
Use a heat-sealable plastic gift wrapping to protect your fruit basket. You can buy plastic gift wrapping in different colors and designs, although when using heat-sealable plastic gift wrapping with edible products, make sure that it is approved for direct food contact. Cut the plastic gift wrapping 3 times the size of your basket.
4
Place the fruit basket in the middle of the plastic gift wrapping, and bring up the sides. Secure the plastic gift wrapping at the top, and use the hot air from a blow dryer to seal the bag.
5
Embellish your gift basket with bows, flowers, ribbon or other extras that make your gift look nice.
