When it came to the results, we felt the proof of the pudding should be in the eating, so we contributed the greatest part of the total test score (40%) for charcoal to the taste and flavour of the food, and 30% for ease of use.
Because gas barbecues are recommended for their convenience we placed equal importance on ease of use (35%) and taste (35%). Finally, 15% of the total score for all models went on assembly and quality of finish, and 15% on stability and portability.
