How to test barbecues--Assembly
Some barbecues are packed with high-spec features, but their cooking performance doesn't measure up to their stylish design. Others look basic but cook delicious food. You can't tell how good a barbecue is just by looking at it – we actually cook on every barbecue we test so we can tell you which ones are really worth shouting about. We also run each barbecue through a series of rigorous tests in our lab.

Assembly
First of all, we send the flat-pack barbecues off to our lab where our testers assess how easy they are to put together. They time how long it takes to build each one from scratch, and rate how easy the assembly instructions are to follow.
Our expert testers then look closely at each assembled barbecue and rate the quality of its finish. They'll look out for any sharp edges that may cut fingers, or flimsy materials that may distort to make it wobbly or difficult to use.
