How to Use a Potato Masher
What You'll Need
•Sharpened knife
•Cutting board
•Potato masher (ideal for larger quantities of potatoes)
•Large bowl
•Potatoes, peeled or un-peeled.
Instructions
1. Use a sharpened knife to cut the potatoes (any variety/desired amount) into quarters (four equally-sized pieces each).
2. Place potatoes into a large bowl.
3. Grip the potato masher by its handle so that the instrument is facing downward.
4. Push the masher down into the potatoes, lift up and push back down. Continue doing this until the potatoes have become pulpy. The more you mash, the smoother the texture will become. The consistency is a matter of personal preference.
5. During this process is when you can add any desired ingredients, such as olive oil, butter, pepper or salt.
6. Your mashed potatoes are now ready to serve heated or cold. Enjoy!
