How to Use Bird Cages as In-Home Decor
The right bird cage can add to the decor in your home. However, the expense and mess that comes with owning a bird may be a turn off. Things like cleaning up bird excrement, buying seed, perches and exercise bars could make you decide against using this form of decoration. You can use a decorative bird cage without actually acquiring a bird to live in it. The cage can be used for strictly decorative purposes.
Instructions
1 Choose your bird cage. It should fit the space you have in mind and match the rest of the decor in that room. You can choose from antique, wooden or many other types of cages. Decide if you would like a cage that hangs, or if a standing one would fit better in your room.
2 Adapt your bird cage. Once you get it home, you may choose to paint it, or attach other items or some other form of decoration. You may even wish to place a fake bird in the cage.
3 Add a perch, food and water bowls or anything else you wish to make it look authentic, while retaining a decorative touch.
