How to Hang a Dish Drying Rack Over the Sink
Dish racks are useful if you don’t have a dishwasher. Unfortunately, dish racks can also take up a lot of counter space in the kitchen. If you have a small kitchen or not much counter space, get a hanging dish drying rack for over your sink. You can install it yourself with a few basic household tools.
Instructions
1 Use a tape measure to measure the width of the part of the drying rack you are going to mount to the wall.
2 Tear off a piece of masking tape that is the same length as the rack measurement. Place it on the wall where you will hang the drying rack. Adjust the strip of tape as necessary until you are satisfied with the placement.
3 Use a pencil to mark the spots on the masking tape where you will screw the rack into the wall.
4 Use a power drill to drill pilot holes for the wall anchors on the spots you marked.
5 Tap the wall anchors into the wall with a hammer.
6 Place the drying rack against the wall and line up its holes with the holes you drilled for the anchors.
7 Insert long screws into the holes in the dish drying rack. Use a power drill or a screwdriver to screw them into the wall.
8 Tighten the screws with a screwdriver until they don’t budge. This will ensure that the anchors in the wall have opened fully and are gripping the interior of the wall.
