How to Clean a Dishwasher Rack
Consider some tips for how to properly clean a dishwasher rack.

Remove the dishwasher rack from the dishwasher if possible. Begin to scrub the dishwasher rack with a toothbrush. Apply a soft abrasive cleaner, such as Soft Scrub, to work out the stains.

Wet a sponge with hot water and liquid soap. Use it to clean off anything removed by the toothbrush.

Use a clean dishrag to wash off the residue.

Place a dishwasher safe cup full of white vinegar in the top dishwasher rack of the dishwasher. Run a wash cycle on its hottest setting. Empty the dishwasher except for the cup of vinegar.
Tips & Warnings
•If the above steps did not work, sprinkle a cup of baking soda around the bottom of the dishwasher. Run a cycle on its hottest setting--again while empty--to remove any stains or smells.
•If you are worried about anything you used in the process, run a complete cycle with just water and no cleaning solutions whatsoever. This should cleanse the dishwasher even more and remove any residue or buildup created by using the cleaning solutions.
