Clean Oven Racks to Restore Shine
Datetime:2014-08-29 Hits:
Oven racks endure a large amount of wear and tear. While cooking, food spills can quickly diminish the clean, shiny quality of oven racks as residue builds up. Since most ovens are used on a daily basis, it is important to keep the racks usable and in the best condition possible. Every few months, or as needed, you can remove the built-up residue and restore the shine of the oven racks by completing a simple cleaning procedure.
Instructions
1
Line a large sink, or the bathtub, with a large towel. This will prevent the oven racks from scratching the finish of the tub or sink.
2
Fill the sink or tub with hot water, using enough to submerge the oven racks.
3
Pour liquid dish soap into the water, using one squirt of dish soap for every gallon of hot water.
4
Place the oven racks into the soapy water. Let the racks soak overnight.
5
Scrub the oven racks the next day with a scrub brush to remove any remaining residue that has not soaked off the racks.
6
Rinse the racks once more with hot water. Dry with a towel and place them back into the oven.
