Clean Barbecue Grill Grates
Datetime:2014-07-22 Hits:
Cooking food on the barbecue grill is an enjoyable pastime during warm weather months. While it's easiest to clean the barbecue grill grates after grilling, before the food becomes cooked onto the grill, it's not always possible. Grease, food particles and ash from charcoal build up on the grill grate and affect the flavor of the food being cooked. For the best-tasting grilled food possible, it's important to keep the barbecue grill grate clean.
Instructions
1
Heat the grill for a few minutes to make it easier to remove built-up grease and food.
2
Scrub the grill grate with a long-handled steel brush made specifically for cleaning grill grates. Move back and forth over areas of the grate that are heavily coated with grease and food. Allow the grate to cool enough so it can be handled without burning the skin.
3
Mix baking soda and water in a bowl to create a thick paste. Dip a scouring pad in the baking soda paste and use it to scrub hard-to-remove areas of grease and food on the barbecue grill grate.
4
Rinse the grill grate with water and wipe dry with a clean towel.
