Building Shoe Racks
Floor spaces beside your front door and in your closet tend to be common storage areas for shoes. However, piles of shoes are unsightly and a hassle in both areas. A simple shoe rack can add convenience and improve the appearance of your home with minimal effort. A compact shoe rack can also be adapted to suit your most limited spaces, maximizing their utilization.
Instructions
1 Attach the small L-brackets to the underside of your 1/2-inch-by-3-inch board with woods screws.
2 Glue the felt to the underside of the 1/2-inch-by-3-inch board, covering the attached brackets. This will help protect your shoes from getting scuffed when you remove or insert them into your shoe rack.
3 Attach the large L-brackets to the underside of your 1/2-inch-by-6-inch board with wood screws.
4 Mount one set of drywall anchors in the wall where you want the top of your shoe rack to be.
5 Screw your 1/2-inch-by-3-inch board's brackets into the drywall anchors.
6 Mount the 1/2-inch-by-6-inch board onto the wall with drywall anchors, three inches below your mounted top board.
