Open the dog crate box and slide out the flattened metal crate.

Place the dog crate flat on the floor so that the removable plastic pan is at the bottom of the crate.

Lift the top two layers of the folded crate. These layers are each connected to the bottom of the crate so they will open like a book as you unfold them.

Pull the next layer of the crate straight up and balance it on the top of the two upright sides of the crate.

Pull the next layer up at an angle to form the back of the crate.
